5" high clearance lift systems for the 2020 model year Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500 HD trucks.
Based around the tried and true high clearance technology that has made BDS the go-to for GM HD suspension lifts, these systems have been designed from the ground up to get the most out of these trucks with the most ground clearance on the market, now available with next gen FOX 2.5 Performance Elite Series shocks. These new lift systems bring comfort, handling, and capability with clearance for up to 37-38" tires. While some companies build "kits" to fit larger tires, BDS Suspension prides itself in engineering complete suspension systems designed to take your vehicle's performance to the next level while retaining OE-level functionality.
At the heart of these lift system, BDS utilizes a pair of 1/4" thick laser cut high clearance crossmembers to maximize clearance and provide a solid mounting point for the OE lower control arms. These paired with the heavy duty front skid plate create a rigid subframe while adding protection for vital steering and driveline components. In place of the factory steering knuckles are a pair of specially designed ductile iron replacement steering knuckles to maintain proper steering geometry and ESC system compatibility. The front differential is repositioned with BDS's multipoint relocation bracket system to secure the front differential and keep CV axle angles at a minimum. To aid in maximazing ground clearance, a pair of torsion bar relocations brackets are supplied to mount to the lower control arms which retain the factory high clearance frame mounted crossmember. A pair of BDS-branded sway bar drop brackets are used to correct the operating angle of the factory sway bar, along with extended length braided stainless steel brake lines. For a huge performance upgrade, these kits are now available with Fox 2.5 Performance Elite Series Remote Reservoir shocks. These large 2.5" aluminum-bodied shocks feature DSC (Dual Speed Compression) adjustable reservoirs for additional damping capacity, better heat dispersion and tuneable ride.
Important Kit Notes
- 1. For DRW models, use the w/ overload rear lift option
- 2. Requires frame bracket modification.
- 3. Torsion Bar Tool required to load/unload torsion bars
- 4. Models with two-piece rear driveshafts will require a carrier bearing drop kit.
- 5. Factory 17-18" wheels cannot be reinstalled due to tie rod end interference, stock 20" wheels can be reinstalled with up to a 35x12.50 tire.
- 6. In some cases vehicles used in 4WD on the highway regularly could potentially experience a minor front driveline vibration. If this occurs we recommend replacing the front driveshaft with a dual Cardan style driveshaft.
- 7. Do not install this suspension system in conjunction with any type of torsion bar lift keys to achieve more that tested 6.5" lift height.
- 8. Compatible with gas or diesel models.
- 9. Compatible with standard models as well as AT4 models.
- 10. Some minor trim will be required with certain wheel/tire combination. This is normal with most aftermarket tire/wheel fitment on Chevy/GM trucks. Trimming will normally included the bottom edge of the inner fender shrouds and/or lower corner of front bumper valance. As a rule of thumb, deeper backspacing and shorter/narrower tires will reduce/eliminate trimming required.
